The 1st Dutch Surgical Innovation Symposium (NSIS) brings together surgeons, researchers, engineers, technical students, and industry partners to explore the forefront of surgical innovation. This inaugural edition marks a national platform where technological advancement and clinical application meet to shape the future of surgery.
NSIS is a unique collaboration between the Dutch surgical community and leading technical universities, creating a multidisciplinary environment focused on translation from concept to operating room.

- Virtual and augmented reality
- Robotics
- Artificial intelligence
- E-health and digital surgery
Through keynote lectures, innovation showcases, and interactive sessions, participants will gain insight into emerging technologies that are redefining surgical practice.
Abstract Submission & Innovation Pitch
Technical students and PhD candidates are invited to submit an abstract presenting their surgical innovation. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to pitch their work to a multidisciplinary jury of surgeons, engineers, and innovation experts.
Innovation Award
The winner will receive, among other prizes, access to the 2026 EAES – European Association for Endoscopic Surgery Congress in Athens, providing international exposure within the minimally invasive surgical community.
